In-Home Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care Specialist
Elin Rose is seeking experienced, dependable, and emotionally intelligent caregivers to join our care team. This role provides hands-on support for older adults in their homes, with an emphasis on memory care, safety, daily living assistance, and relationship-based support.
This is not a passive caregiving role. Our care specialists are active participants in maintaining quality of life, reducing confusion and agitation, and helping create a calm, structured home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized in-home care for older adult clients, including those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Prepare meals aligned with client needs and preferences
- Provide medication reminders only, according to the care plan
- Observe and document changes in behavior, cognition, and physical condition
- Use dementia-care techniques to help reduce anxiety, agitation, and confusion
- Engage clients in meaningful activities such as conversation, light movement, and memory stimulation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment
- Communicate consistently with family members and care coordinators
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in geriatric care required
- Experience working with Alzheimer’s and dementia clients strongly preferred
- CNA, HHA, dementia care certification, or similar training preferred but not required
- Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism
- Strong observation and communication skills
- Physically able to assist with mobility and transfers when needed
- Reliable transportation and punctuality required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
